Taste Bud Adventures - Ice Cream

This one isn't gross, but still pretty weird. The other day I had ice cream after lunch, but like everything else...the Thais do it different. Ever had ice cream with croutons, rice crispies, sticky rice, and condensed milk on top? I didn't think so. But it's really good. Other common toppings include corn, red beans, and some strange fruits (I don't know the names). I've also seen people walking around with 3 scoops of ice cream in a hot dog bun (looks kinda like a banana split). That is my next mission to find! And all that for only 12 baht (35 cents) a bowl!

Lea Ann is on her way home!

Lea Ann is headed home for the first time in over a year! Right now she is somewhere near Tokyo, lounging in the lap of luxury in an International First Class seat. I must say I'm more than a little bit jealous... :-). I guess they overbooked the flight and Lea Ann happened to score a free upgrade. Lucky! She got to hang out in the first class lounge in Bangkok, and from what she told me on the phone it sounds pretty awesome. Apparently they have private rooms with comfy chairs, waitresses, TVs, and all you can eat or drink. Plus massages, hand-rolled Cuban cigars, personal shoppers, maids, a world-class chef and and army of office assistants. Yes...I totally made up that last part.

Anyways this is what she'll look like coming back to America, wearing her comfy suit and the standard pig flu mask that has become a very common sight in Thailand! Not sure if it actually helps to prevent spreading the virus, but why risk it in an airplane with the same air being recirculated for 20-some hours...right? I think it's actually kinda cool looking...she looks like a doctor :-). Meanwhile I'll be here for 2 more weeks before coming back the US, so I think I'll use the time to eat some weird food that Lea Ann normally wouldn't touch. Should get a few interesting blogs out of it...and if I'm lucky, no parasites!
